KBBB YOUTH CONVENTION AT LONGWA (MON): The 57th Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjüm (KBBB) Youth Convention is scheduled to be held at Longwa village from October 14 to 16, 2011. Longwa village situated at Indo-Myanmar border is 30 km from Mon, the district Headquarter.
The village is now in full swing preparation for the convention, constructing a huge hall with locally available materials. The hall designed by local architect will stand without post(s) inside the hall which will give a free space to accommodate at least five thousand (5000) people at once. Youth from about 120 churches under KBBB will participate in the convention. A good number of delegates from Wanchos of Arunachal Pradesh and Eastern Konyak from Myanmar are also expected to join the convention.
The highlights of the convention include youth board business session, worship services, competitions in various activities and entertainments. There will be volleyball exhibition matches with friends from Arunachal and Myanmar as the part of Youth Sports Ministry.
The KBBB staffs Metjen Finance Secretary and Peihwang Development Secretary had visited the village to verify the progress of the preparation. A press note received here informed on behalf of the Youth department to all its members and well-wishers that the road condition leading to the host village from Mon is blacktopped and there will be no problem taking any type of vehicles.
Accommodation is being prepared for the members and official delegates by the local arrangement committee. However, any individual or group interested to attend the convention should inform either host village or KBBB Youth Secretary. “Let us all wait in prayer to meet during this convention,” the note further added.
