ENSF SUPPORTS NU SETAM AGITATION: The Eastern Students’ Federation (ENSF) has extended support to the agitation initiated by the Students’ Union of NU-SETAM at Lumami campus against the NU authority to press their urgent genuine grievances laid down to be addressed.

 SETAM is the only engineering college in Nagaland and therefore the ENSF believes in not compromising with the career of the student community solely because of the careless lackadaisical attitude of some authority, stated a press note issued by the Federation. The Federation feels that demands of the Students of NU-SETAM are genuine which needs to be immediately addressed at the earliest. It is pertinent to mention that the sole engineering college of Nagaland is functioning without proper infrastructure and lab facilities with acute shortage of Lectures/Assistant professors. This is very serious as it will have a negative impact on the Students of the SETAM in the long run. Therefore, the Federation remands the authority of NU not to play with the career of our Students as it will have a wide ramification for all concerned. The ENSF request the authority of NU to urgently solve the grievances of the Students of SETAM before matter evaporates beyond rectification.

Meanwhile, the Federation assures to render help and support to the students union of SETAM in their agitation. The ENSF also directs the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union, Mokokchung (ENSUM), Eastern Nagaland post Graduate Students’ Union of Lumami and all the Eastern Nagas studying in NU to extend all possible help and support to the agitating Students’ Union of SETAM as it concerns with the students’ career of the Nagas in general and Eastern Nagas in particular. The ENSF also advice the NU authority not to drag and prolong the matter as this will not go down well to the Federation but request to sincerely address the students grievances at the earliest.
